Research ATtorney Team
The Research Attorney Team helps carry out Legal Voice’s mission to advance the legal rights of women in the five Northwest states (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska) by providing legal research, analysis, and written memoranda to Legal Voice Staff Attorneys.
Qualifications
Attorneys at all levels of experience, from any area of legal practice including academia, are welcome to participate on the Research Attorney Team. Recent law graduates who volunteered for Legal Voice as law students are particularly encouraged to apply. Membership is limited to ten attorneys per year. Access to an online legal research service is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
Research Attorney Team members agree to serve for a term of at least one year. The Team will meet twice per year. Research topics and assignments on issues that help advance women’s legal rights will be sent to the Team via email on a regular basis. A Team member volunteers for a particular assignment based on his or her assessment that participation raises no conflict of interest, and that he or she has the availability to commit to completing the research.
Time Commitment
Members should anticipate a regular commitment of approximately 1-2 hours per month, depending on the individual member’s choice of assignments.
