GET HELP

The Northwest Women’s Law Center believes that giving people information about their legal rights empowers them to make decisions and advocate for themselves and their families.

What We Do

We give callers – both women and men - information about their legal rights in Washington State over the phone and through our written publications.

To talk with someone about your rights, call our Legal Information and Referral Hotline:

  • (206) 621-7691
  • Toll Free: (866) 259-7720
  • TTY: (206) 521-4317

We have added Language Line interpreter services to our Legal I&R Line.  If you are referring a limited English proficient caller to our I&R line, please ask the caller to state her/his first or preferred language and to hold for connection to a telephone interpreter service.

We offer many legal materials on this website.  Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view them.  Download Acrobat for free here.  Scroll down to learn more about these documents.

We also bring public impact lawsuits in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska to advance women’s legal rights.  Call the number above if you feel you have such a case and your case will be evaluated.

What We Don’t Do

We do not give legal advice over the telephone line.

We do not have attorneys on staff to represent individuals.

We do not have a list of attorneys who will represent people for free.

We do not meet with callers – we assist people by telephone only.
