Health and Reproductive Justice
What is the Northwest Reproductive Justice Collaborative?
The Northwest Reproductive Justice Collaborative (NRJC), convened by Legal Voice, is committed to forging a creative vision of reproductive justice for our region. The NRJC brings together members of many northwest communities, including those often excluded from the mainstream movement for reproductive rights, to develop shared values supporting the human, sexual, and reproductive rights of all. The NRJC is a three-year project; its members are individuals and organizations whose communities are affected by reproductive injustice. The shared values will help determine the ultimate direction of the NRJC and will guide Legal Voice as it develops and implements legal and policy initiatives to advance reproductive justice for all.
At the end of the project, we hope to have a blueprint that will make specific recommendations about how to lead, direct, and accomplish reproductive justice in the Northwest.
How is this project connected to the rest of the reproductive justice movement, both locally and nationally?
The NRJC is committed to supporting and building on the efforts of national and regional leaders in the movement for reproductive justice. The Planning Committee of the NRJC has looked to the work of movement leaders for guidance, support, and suggestions about where our work might intersect with, inform, and further the movement. We anticipate that we will continue to honor their leadership and groundbreaking work on behalf of women's humanity.
Women's rights. Nothing less.
